Nyx-bohyně noci

V řecké mytologii je bohyně noci (temná noc). Nyx byla dcerou Chaosu, za muže si vzala svého bratra Ereba.
Potomstvo bohyně Nykty bylo velmi početné. Většinou jsou všechny bytosti zplozené Nyktou v říši temnot a hrůzy a jsou spojené se smrtí, i když noc krotí vášně a ukolébává vše do klidu.
Nyx povstala (stejně jako bůh věčné tmy Erebos) z prvopočátečního Chaosu. Se svým bratrem Erebem pak zrodila Aithera – boha jasného světla, a Hémeru – bohyni jasného dne. Nyx též Nykta je bohyně upírů.
Teď si uveďme její děti a jejich otcové: S Diem měla: Moiry – bohyně osudu
S Erebem - Aithér – bůh jasného světla
Charón – převozník v podsvětí
Hémerá – bohyně jasného dne
Styx-jedná z řek z podvětí (říká se, že je dcerou Okeana a Tethys).
S Uranem-Lyssa bohyně šílenství

Apaté – bůh klamu, lži a lsti
Kéry – bohyně násilné smrti
Mómos – bůh hany a hlouposti, posměchu a radovánek
Moros – zkáza, záhuba
Oizys – bída, utrpení, nesnáze, strádání
Oneiroi – sny
Philotes – přátelství, potěšení z lásky
Eris – bohyně sváru
Geras – bohyně stáří
Nemesis – bohyně spravedlivé odplaty
Hesperidky – nymfy a strážkyně stromu se zlatými jablky
